A rare Safe-Queen Rolex Daytona pre-ceramic model 116520 in black dial, a model reference that was discontinued nearly a decade ago and is becoming extremely difficult to come into the market, especially in not just Mint condition but also as a full set with boxes and papers.
This particular reference was the last generation of Rolex Daytona with a polished stainless-steel bezel, before Rolex replaced them in favour of black ceramic bezel model 116500LN in 2016 (which is not further replaced by 126500LN in 2023), making this particular configuration very desirable, rare and collectible today. These non-ceramic bezels now are only offered in the Daytona range in precious metal of white gold, yellow gold, everose, platinum etc.
As this is one of the last pre-ceramic Daytona’s in stainless steel, this example also comes with engraved rehaut (inner bezel) with Rolex laser etching, as can be seen in the photos.
This particular example being offered for sale is a very rare timepiece that remained unworn and unused for a very long time and was recently only lightly used and worn, hence the reason for such beautiful and Mint condition with only surface hairlines suggesting minimal to no use, as can be seen in the photos. The watch comes as full set with factory boxes and papers dated 2012, including the white serial tag as shown in the photo.
The watch is comprehensively tested and authenticated by us and as it is a safe-queen with most of the time spent in storage, the watch shows solid movement amplitude and accuracy, suggesting that it doesn’t require any servicing in the near future.
All the photos are from the very Rolex Daytona pre-ceramic 116520 timepiece offered for sale and showcase the condition of the actual watch available. The photos are indicative of how the watch looks and are taken at the time of listing this ad. The serial number of the watch is redacted in all the photos, as applicable, for security and privacy reasons.
